The document root is not the public folder.

It points at /home/dsconnects/demo.dsconnects.in instead of /home/dsconnects/demo.dsconnects.in/public. The backend ships an .htaccess in the application folder that routes requests into public/ and blocks the .env file, so the application works either way — but the better fix is to set the document root in cPanel (Domains → your-domain.com → Document Root) to /home/dsconnects/demo.dsconnects.in/public.

Application

The API token is signed with this key. If you paste the value of auth.signing-key from the old backend, the people who are already using the app stay signed in across the switch. Leave it empty and a new key is generated, which signs everybody out.

Database

On cPanel: open MySQL Databases, create a database and a user, and add the user to the database with all privileges. Use localhost as the host.

Email (SMTP)

cPanel's outgoing server is normally mail.your-domain.com. Port 465 uses SSL and port 587 uses STARTTLS — the installer keeps the two in step for you. While the sending is switched off the password reset link is written to the log instead, which is a quick way to test the flow.

First administrator

You can also create this later from the app — it just registers a new account.

Developer tools

The API tester and the log checker live at /api-tester and /logs. Give them a password so nobody else can reach them.

This writes the .env file, creates the tables, fixes the permissions, adds the cron job and locks the installer.
